Focussed Engagement – Expression of Interest. We are currently planning for focussed public engagement through a “Vision Workshop” session within Stoney Stanton during the day on 13th October 2021 and would like to invite expressions of interest for attendance.
Capacity considerations for this event require it to be by invitation only, however to ensure a representative range of local people, businesses and interest groups are invited we would welcome applications for attendance from as many people as possible. If you would like to attend the Vision Workshop sessions we would ask that you respond to us by 24th September 2021.
We would also iterate that this is the first stage of consultation in what will be an ongoing programme of public consultation on the proposals for this area and future consultations with regard to wider site masterplanning will be open for all to attend and provide further feedback.
What to Expect at the Workshop on 13th October 2021
The day will have a clear focus on the development of a Vision for the Site, to inform the Masterplanning process. No Masterplan has yet been developed. The Visioning Day is intended to be an Open Forum for the Design Team to collect further information about the Site from the local community and to understand issues, concerns, and ideas/vision for the development of the Site at a local level. The information gained through the Visioning process, will then feed into the Masterplanning process and development.
The Morning Session will comprise an Introduction to the Project Team and Site including an overview of technical baseline work undertaken and inviting an open forum discussion for comments, concerns and ideas/visions to be put forward, a light lunch will be provided.
The Afternoon Session will comprise structured Breakout Topic Groups which will be focussed on key themes to allow local issues to be discussed. The key themes will include (but are not limited to):
- Mobility and Connectivity – how the masterplan can connect to its surroundings and promote sustainable transport modes, and the infrastructure required
- Environment and Green and Blue Infrastructure – how to create attractive and multifunctional open spaces, increase biodiversity and address climate change, including drainage and flood risk.
- Community and Uses – the type of facilities and services that will support the new community, and their best location to also benefit existing communities
- Homes and Places – how a diverse provision of homes can cater for different people’s needs and aspirations, embrace local character and define the identity of the place
Further public consultation will be undertaken in due course to invite views and opinions on any Masterplan which is developed as a result of the initial visioning engagement. All local residents, interest groups and local businesses will be invited to a future consultation at that stage at the relevant time.
When responding please could you include the following information:
